After the phenomenal success of Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’, Simu Liu’s ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ and Chloe Zhao’s multi-starrer ‘Eternals’, Marvel is all set to end the year on a good note. While the previously released movies did a decent business at the box office and motivated the giant studio to go ahead with the release plans for their most-ambitious project ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, the Tom Holland starrer is already off to a flying start at the box office.

The Jon Watts directorial which is releasing on December 16 in India (a day before its US release), opened its advance booking window on Sunday and within no time the tickets were all sold out. Given the immense popularity and demand of the movie, cinema halls are now running shows as early as 5 AM. Trade expert Taran Adarsh also confirmed the news on social media and even added that the makers will be releasing the movie in Tamil and Telugu as well (in India).

And with Spider-Man baddies Doc Ock (Alfred Molina), Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Lizard (Rhys Ifans) all set to return and take on Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Marvel has raised the bar to the next level by bringing Benedict Cumberbatch on-board as Doctor Strange in the absence of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man, who protected and mentored Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the earlier instalments
In addition to the already introduced ensemble star cast, reports making rounds on the internet also suggest Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprising their own versions of Spider-Man (from previous Spider-Man movies) in the Jon Watts directorial While the sale of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ tickets in India continues to create new box office records each day, many online pre-booking websites in the US were reported to have crashed down due to heavy traffic last month
Apart from Holland, Cumberbatch and the sinister six, ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ will also feature Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon and Marisa Tomei reprising their characters from the previous Marvel instalments
