Madhur Rakheja rejected quite some alluring offers from the likes of Amazon, Cognizant, Infosys and Optum (to name a few) to bag *dhol nagada and drum rolls* a whopping 50 LPA package from Microsoft! The lad will soon be joining the Microsoft Bengaluru office.
Rejecting Amazon And Cognizant, BTech Student Accepts Rs 50 Lakh Job Offer From Microsoft https://t.co/C4bsvlvL7J— MSN India (@msnindia) August 2, 2022
Why did he reject the other bigwigs though? Madhur skipped the other offers for Microsoft ‘cause obviously their package was better (obviously) and the Silicon Valley giant also offers stock options besides a multitude of perks. Some of the perks the company offers that excited Madhur are cited below.
Flexible work hours
Amazing work culture
Oncampus food and cafe facility
Impactful work done by the engineers
These ones sort of read like a typical Glassdoor review but the next two are rather exciting!
Salary with Stock options
Discounts of products by Microsoft
Madhur hopes he would become a better software engineer in the organization. He had similar profiles in the offering at Amazon and Cognizant as an SDE but the interest in these companies is dwindling by the day amongst the younger generation. Given the option they would opt for Google or Microsoft over Infosys or their ilk. But that’s purely subjective and up for debate in some other article.
For his success, Madhur Raheja has thanked his UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies) Dehradun’s faculty for the facilities they provided. He is in awe of the way they instilled programming fundamentals with equal emphasis on theory and practicals.
The lad did his BTech in Computer Engineering with specialization in Oil and Gas Informatics from UPES.
Quite a unique specialization Although he never wanted to go upstream with the specialization as he is passionate about programming
Madhur’s dad’s a shopkeeper in Haryana’s Ambala Cantonment and mum’s a homemaker Dude certainly did his humble parents proud Kudos Madhur 👏
